Reid Promenade Apartments & Commercial Development
This project is located on a prominent corner and therefore the design called for a building that suited its location. The large massing is set to the site boundaries, and to provide both visual relief and interest around the building, the facade is wrapped from highly visual and transparent balconies at the exterior, to a more cocooned feel in the middle, centring the building on the street corner.
The large external balconies are screened to provide an additional external room for residents, increasing the amenity of each apartment and increasing the overall value of the development.
Using a combination of AFS, face brickwork and steel frame construction, the built form wraps itself around a central communal facility courtyard on the northern aspect of the building. By elevating this space above the carpark, the floor area for common space is maximised whilst also considering access to the easement that straddles the property.
