Held in the charismatic venue of an old Fremantle Prison workshop, the National Association of Women in Construction (WA) Awards for Excellence took place on the evening of Thursday 20th March. A number of Fratelle Group staff attended, including Director Kylee Schoonens who is also the Events Co-Chair on the NAWIC Committee.
It was fantastic to see some of the talented women currently involved in the construction industry in WA, and inspiring to hear co-patron of the night The Hon. Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi speak of the challenges and opportunities that today’s women face in a professional role.
A big congratulations go to all of the evening’s winners, especially painter Emma Bain the winner of the night’s big award, the Western Australia Crystal Vision award, which recognises and celebrates the achievements of an exceptional woman within the construction industry, who with vision and commitment, has not only forged her own career, but has also promoted and encouraged the development of other women within the industry and in doing so, has provided a significant contribution to the industry as a whole.
A big thank you to the organizing committee for putting on yet another great event, and also to Austral Bricks and European Ceramics for helping us their generous donations of prizes including a night at Crown and an iPad respectively, along with all of the other sponsors.
